entangled in a cage of silken spider webs
bound by words that have no meaning to my soul
i offered you all of value i had any right to give
and you turned away, held by chains of your own
the threads draw tighter still
as fear adds its weight to the binding mass
one word, one thought and i'd be free
yet it's not one i can utter
so i draw away lost within thoughts of my own
frozen by the knowledge that they are no longer something i can share
you must know it is not against you i construct these walls
it is simply against myself
to bind the heart and soul in neverending dusk
a vow everlasting
the dream stands as does the hope
and in one instant all can be undone
if ever you wish it so
