Desc Length - Size matters

While we do not have any specific rule on how long a description needs to be, the obvious answer would be not too short and not too long. If you write too little, you leave most of the details to your fellow player's imaginations. Most people appreciate having basic information about your character when they go to role-play with you. Namely: complexion and body type, rough age, gender, height, dress, and some clues as to who the character might be. The latter item can be as easy as a uniform, or more personal - like a signet ring. The more detail you give a character, the more they come to life for those interacting with you.

Descriptions can be too long. Generally anything that runs over an average screen in length is too long. It can be inconvenient to have to scroll back to read the beginning of your desc, especially for people who can't scroll back!

If you want to describe certain things in more detail, consider using views to do so. (+help +view for more information).
