Poetry:Your name echoes within my soul

your name echoes within my soul
at once a plea and benediction
for without you i am part not whole
the mere shadow of perfection
and with a rapt amazed thought
i contemplate the perfection that is the united whole
that within ourselves is such unity wrought
what am i without the consciousness that is you
a frozen portrait with no hope of gaining life
or perhaps some idle work of prose
