betrayal
you dry my tears with malicious intent
knowing that it is because of you they fall
and anticipating the time you will summon them again
you live only for the moment
words mean nothing, they are your tools
falling from your lips like fool's gold
a gleaming hoard of no value
you twist their meaning
saying whatever suits your purpose
and discarding promises like dross
every pleasure taken at someone else's expense
woe to the one who bars your way
your only focus the prize
whether or not it is yours to claim
