someone dropped the ball
and we fell apart
did fate really mean it to be so
why did we meet
why did we love
if we weren't allowed to be together
i close my eyes and see your face in my head sometimes
i see your smile and hear your voice
there is no bitterness
only this prayer
if one of us is ever alone
that the other will be too
and we can finish what was started
and be allowed to love
