torn from one who shares my soul
by one who shares no more than a smile
is exquisite agony
beyond anything i ever feared to experience
the denial of this pain renders
every coherant thought into a baptism
of acid-steeped dread
one instant spent devoid of thought
the next overwhelmed by an anguish
that threatens to tear soul from spirit
and mind from body
