Green and gold mingle
a tangled web of pain and pleasure
memories burn and bleed
tainting present and future
the endless cycle
as one form of madness replaces another?
i will not need
i swore that vow
and clung fast to it for almost two years
so why now?
why knowing better
do i walk eyes wide open into a repeat?
is pain such a desire for my life?
venom tears my heart and soul
the poison corrupting every hope and dream
as i seek solace within a nightmare
just recently escaped.
