there is a void which
you once filled
that gapes like a wound
edges raw and painful
the merest touch an agony
my soul longs for you
every breath and heartbeat
calls your name
dreams, once a solace
highlight your absence
you are gone
now more than ever
the last tenuous contact broken
and i am alone
