eclipse
My sun sets and rises with your smile
a moment with you is worth a lifetime
but it is not enough any more
once i could wait forever because i had hope
that has died
faded to a mere memory of what (i thought) was
my dreams are still haunted by it
i still awaken crying for the past that will never be
but i can't live like this any more
i can't pretend someday it will be better
each day the wish dies a little more
fades into oblivion
the fragments dissolve like spiderwebs in a thunderstorm
swept away in tangled knots
no longer the thing of beauty they once were
