Victoria Ruth<br><br />
She was only a year and two months<br><br />
when God chose to take her home<br><br />
a life ended so soon<br><br />
and as we organized for a presentation<br><br />
i watched private moments of mother and sisters<br><br />
and wept for what they'd lost<br><br />
last night we gathered<br><br />
to pay tribute to her memory<br><br />
and see the work wrought in her name<br><br />
a school, where others of her age could learn<br><br />
a school where they could hope for a better life<br><br />
then their parents.. and grandparents.. and aunts and uncles and peers<br><br />
and i wept<br><br />
but it was tears of joy <br><br />
for death has brought hope in the end<br><br />
and not the hope of one life<br><br />
but hope to many<br><br />
children with only poverty to look forward to<br><br />
now eat two meals a day<br><br />
and have clothing<br><br />
and learn to read and write and so much more<br><br />
We see the pictures of a face lost so young<br><br />
<br><br />
and it still grieves us<br><br />
but we see the pictures of so many faces so young all experiencing joy<br />
that they would not have had <br><br />
and the grief is tempered <br><br />
